Tapas as a food genre are about as close to my vision of perfection as I’ve found, but still fall short.
My goal is to come up with very viable “finger foods” that meet a list of perfect features.
I like foods that are be separated easily into their primary macro: a protein, and optionally a fat or carbohydrate or fiber.
I think one of my favorite foods is just lean steak bites, marinated to tenderize but not too fatty or sweet.
- I also like to ponder a few features: is it easy to prep?
- Is it easily refrigerated or frozen for future consumption?
- Is it easy to reheat in an air fryer or even microwave?
- Does it travel cleanly?
- Is it messy to consume?
- Are ingredients readily available?
Food is fuel for me, but having the option to turn it into pleasure or reward (for myself and others) would be beneficial.
