I have been batting around the idea for a few years for a side hustle called Local Macros:
- fit under the local cottage food laws for making baked goods at home and selling them
- has a very cool website with an amazing calculate for fitness nuts, health geeks and folks in weight loss programs to enter in their needs (protein, fat, calorie needs)
- The website shows them foods they can order and buy, targeting their specific goals (low fat, low carb, high protein, gluten-free, vegan, etc)
- local chefs at home designate their delivery zone or pickup times and they make the goods based on our menu and ingredients.
- chefs transact 100% of the order with the customer.
- the side hustle app only takes $5-$10 a week from the chef to list them on the site and handle sending them the recipes and the deadlines
- Our website gives you the recipes, and tells you where to buy ingredients (or find them yourself) and helps you track ingredients so your local chef items page is accurate.
- Our website also shows you instructions step by step.
- You keep your local branding.
- customers can rate chefs and chefs can block customers.
- If you don’t want to deliver or allow pickups, customers can just use Uber Connect to bring the items to them.
I have numerous friends who are cottage food chefs and their biggest issue is finding customers, but then also competing with junk food chefs making garbage for unhealthy people.
Is anyone interested in working with me in this?
